Teaghlach (pronounced "T-gl-lach") is an old Irish term meaning family.

About David Hartnett

I’m David Hartnett, and the Teaghlach Group is my way of combining my passion for business with my commitment to family. As the former Chief Economic Development Officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber, I led efforts to attract, retain and grow companies across industries including AI, cybersecurity, fintech, supply chain, entertainment and life sciences.


My career has included serving as President and CEO of Macopharma, CEO of SteriFx, a DARPA funded company, and Executive Vice President at Given Imaging, now part of Medtronic. At Given Imaging, I helped commercialize PillCam® video capsule endoscopy technology.


I’ve worked with companies of all sizes, from startups to global enterprises, and have focused throughout my career on helping organizations grow. I’ve also co-founded organizations that have strengthened Atlanta’s business and civic community: Venture Atlanta, with more than $20 billion in exits among its alumni companies; FinTech Atlanta, the nation’s first consortium of FinTech CEOs, which helped lead to the creation of the FinTech Academy; and the Atlanta Science Festival, the largest citywide STEM festival in the U.S. I also invest in healthcare and medical device companies, keeping me connected to the investor community.


My board, advisory and leadership roles include:

Raised on Coronado Island, California, I now call Atlanta home. I enjoy life here with my wife, our four sons and five grandchildren.
